Police have confirmed that the reports of a plane in trouble near Matata earlier today were a false alarm.
A spokesman from the Police District Command Centre said there had been no planes reported missing or overdue.
Police believe reports of a plane in trouble near Matata could be a false alarm.
Senior Sergeant Steven Shaw said they had reports of what looked like a plane crash and were at the scene.
He said they knew there was a topdressing plane in the area but they knew where it was and it was safe.
He said they were still searching the area to make sure there wasn't another plane which may have crashed.
Mr Shaw said sometimes it could look like a crash when a plane gets close to a hill but it had not actually crashed.
