Lake Okareka has lost its water supply today after a break in its main line.

Crews from Rotorua Contracting have located the issue and are working hard to have the break fixed as soon as possible.

The water supply is expected to be restored by 6pm.

Lake Okareka residents are being urged to minimise water usage at this time to reduce the amount of air entering the lines while the teams are working on the issue.

Once water is restored residents can expect aerated water that takes on a milky look.

If anyone has any concerns please contact Rotorua Lakes Council on (07) 348 4199.
