Rotorua's ASB has become the latest of the big banks to move to Rotorua Central - and branch manager Steven Greer says customers are set to notice it "doesn't look like a traditional bank".
Mr Greer said the new relocated store instead looked like a "fresh retail environment".
The bank moved from the corner of Pukuatua and Tutanekai St to Rotorua Central over the weekend and Mr Greer said the relocation had gone well with the bank opening in the new location this morning.
"Already, staff are enjoying working in the new site and all are looking forward to meeting with our customers in our new location."
He said the layout and technology were the two main benefits, and the new location allowed them to interact with even more customers.
"Technology is a big feature. The branch is equipped with the latest technology, providing customers more flexibility in regards to when and how they bank.
"Gone are the days of lining up in a queue to do all your banking - we have a different layout which saves time on the simpler transactions, while having a space where more complex transactions and conversations can still take place in the branch."
He said the new Smart ATMs also allowed customers to do their banking when it suited them, 24 hours a day.
Mr Greer said the staffing levels remained unchanged.
He said the Rotorua branch was ASB's newest branch design and they would continue to refine the design based on customer and staff feedback.
