Art Green has a word of warning for any Rotorua men who fancy becoming the country's next TV bachelor: think very carefully.
All of New Zealand watched as Green met his girlfriend Matilda Rice on TV3 show The Bachelor NZ earlier this year.
Yesterday Green was in Rotorua promoting his business Clean Paleo at the Tarawera Trail Marathon and 50km event expo.
He took time out to chat to the Rotorua Daily Post about how life had been since the show ended.
"Since the show ended I've been trying to get back to having a normal life. I'm carrying on with my business Clean Paleo, which is going really well, we've recently gone into Countdown supermarkets which is really good for us.
"And yeah, just trying to have a normal relationship with Matilda, which has been great!"
The show will return for a second series next year and producers are currently on the hunt for the Kiwi man who will get to be the next bachelor.
Green said the biggest tip he would give his successor would be to think about what he was in for.
"If anyone is thinking about doing it they just need to think really carefully about it because it is definitely a lot harder than I thought it would be mentally.
"It's very tough, every day of filming is a very long strenuous day, but at the same time it's an incredible opportunity.
"I'm so happy that I decided to do it and that I was lucky enough to do it. It's awesome, I would recommend it to anyone who really is looking to find someone."
When it comes to the bachelorettes, Green said they simply needed to be themselves.
"It sounds very cliche but, just be yourself. Be open about everything. The hardest thing for me was figuring out which girls were really actually into me or who was just, kind of like, playing the game."
One of Green's fans, Lisa Kane, approved.
"I think he seems like a nice guy and I think he chose the right girl. She seems very sweet."
