Te Puke Young Farmers Club vice-chairman Casey Brown is raising a calf to donate to the club's latest fundraising venture.
The 25-year-old dairy farmer said he wanted to do his bit to generate money for the club and wanted to encourage fellow farmers to do the same.
Chairman Luther Siemelink said all the funds raised would go towards events throughout the year including the ANZ Young Farmer of the Year regional finals which the club would host later in 2015.
The Te Puke Club was re-established in June 2014 and had close to 50 members.
A calf donation form could be picked up from Farmlands in Te Puke.
Calves needed to be born after August 1, in good health, Nait tagged, dehorned and their movement statement had to be completed.
The calves would be sold in November, Mr Siemelink said and he hoped the fundraising venture had the potential to become an annual event.
