Rotorua police are appealing for sightings of a man trying to entice young women into his car.
Inspector Stu Nightingale said police had received a number of reports of a man in a vehicle approaching young women in Rotorua offering them money to get into his car.
"It Is believe these approaches are sexually motivated," he said.
The women approached have ranged in age from 14 to 21 and the approaches to date have been between the hours 10.30am and 1.30pm.
The locations have been around Old TaupoRd, Fordlands and Western Heights.
The man has been consistently described as Maori or Pacific Island, aged 30 to 40 with a large or fat build and bald head. He also has a small light-coloured dog in his car which has been described as a dirty white station wagon or sedan.
"We have had a couple of different registration numbers provided to us, and it is possible that plates on the vehicle are being changed," Mr Nightingale said.
If you see this man call 111 to report the sighting immediately.
