If we all helped just one person, the world will be a better place, Rotorua Baptist Church music director Phil Edwards told the people who gathered for the church's community outreach event.
Church members spent 90 minutes singing and sharing their message in the City Focus on Saturday with the aim of showing the city what the church provided.
There was music from the church band, songs from the pre-school Mainly Music group and 500 free sausages.
"It was about getting some practical help for some people," said Mr Edwards.
"If they come on a Sunday, so be it, but it's also about giving people something more practical. We work with the Salvation Army and it's all about getting people into those services. Even if we can help just one person, then it's all worth it."
Mr Edwards said members of other churches spoke to the church group, as well as a few of Rotorua's homeless community, who enjoyed the music.
"Regardless of us being part of a church, if we can all do do something for one person it helps the world be a better place."
