This year's Rotorua A&P Lifestyle Expo is going to be a bit more than the usual chainsaws, cows and sheep dogs with the military turning up in force to commemorate the Anzacs.
The New Zealand Defence Force is setting up camp at the show to recruit, provide information and help stage this year's Anzac commemoration show which remembers the disastrous Gallipoli landings of April 1915.
There will be large military displays featuring tanks, military vehicles and machinery from around the country, as well as Anzac memorabilia, films, and information.
The New Zealand Defence Force is made up of the Navy, Army and Air Force and its job is to protect the country, its resources and its interests.
This could mean fighting alongside New Zealand's allies in a combat zone, going in after a natural disaster to help save lives and rebuild communities, or assisting in search and rescue missions.
Along with the Defence Force contribution, there will be plenty of great prizes to be won and cook Nici Wickes will be back to demonstrate more of her culinary delights.
Competitions include horse, cattle, alpacas and goats as well as the popular Agrodome shears, wool-handling and axeman events.
The show is being held at the showgrounds on Western Rd in Ngongotaha on January 24 and 25.
Tickets are $10 for adults with children under-15 admitted free.
