A woman and two children have been injured in a crash on State Highway 5.
A Police North Communications spokesman said police, fire, and ambulance were called to the scene of a one-car crash around 5.20pm yesterday.
A Greenlea Rescue Helicopter spokesman said two rescue helicopters were also called to the crash near Mihi Bridge where a car had run off the road, overturned and ended up in a paddock.
He said they flew a 23-year-old woman to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries, and the Bay Trust Rescue Helicopter flew two children to Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries.
All the injured were from Ohakune, he said.
The police spokesman said it had not yet been determined how the crash happened and the Serious Crash Unit was investigating.
A witness said it looked like a very serious crash and the car had flipped and rolled down the bank.
