AFC Fury have won the Waibop Federation One competition for the second year running.
AFC Fury (Tauranga) won the title on Saturday, after drawing 2-2 with Melville. They have been the dominant side in the competition this year and won the title with two games remaining. They will now go into a playoff to try to win promotion to the Northern League.
Meanwhile, Ngongotaha have recorded their first positive result in four games, with a 1-1 draw against Cambridge.
Ngongotaha hosted third-placed Cambridge on Saturday at Stembridge Rd. The home side had lost three straight games going into the match. Ngongotaha remain in fifth spot while Cambridge sit in third.
Rotorua United will need to wait until this Saturday to secure their promotion back into the Federation One competition.
Papamoa won at the weekend, which means United need to beat West Hamilton away on Saturday to secure second spot on the Federation Two ladder, and the second promotion spot.
