Wanted: people with plenty of energy for the upcoming stage comedy See How They Run.
Auditions are about to get under way for the Shambles Theatre show in March and April this year.
Set in 1940s England in the village of Merton-cum-Middlewick, See How They Run is a farce, full of pace and energy.
Both seasoned actors and newcomers are encouraged to audition and even those laking acting experience are being encourage to give it a try if they think they have what it takes.
A cast of nine is required, six male and three female roles of various ages.
Director Remo Royall Malcolm said the play would require lots of energy from the cast. "All the cast members will need to be of a certain level of fitness, but don't be put off by this".
The storyline follows the village inhabitants preparing themselves for the imminent threat of Nazi invasion and the local nosy-parker and spinster, Miss Skillon, becomes convinced that the vicar's wife, Penelope Toop, is having an affair and attempts to expose her.
Add an escaped German prisoner of war, a handsome actor, the visiting Bishop of Lax, a priest and some meddling neighbours and hilarious confusion and mayhem result.
Auditions will be at the Rotorua Shambles Theatre from 7.30pm Monday January 20 and Tuesday January 21. The season will run from March 28 to April 12.
