A driver of a ute has escaped serious injury after the vehicle rolled just north of the Ngongotaha township.

Police, fire and ambulance were called to the crash on Hamurana Rd about 4.20pm yesterday.

Inspector Barry Smalley of police northern communications said the driver suffered only minor injuries.

Mr Smalley said the road was not blocked by the crash and no arrests were made.

A woman who lived near the crash scene said there had been a lot of crashes on the stretch of road.

Her fence had been hit several times, she said.
