Rotorua locals are being wowed by a touring circus show called Zirka Circus, with some shows almost selling out at the Village Green.
After watching performers at Zirka Circus yesterday afternoon, Jordyn-Ray Wineera, 4, said she wanted to join the circus when she grows up.
"I like the girls and the tricks," she said.
Her mum Stacey Katting said they had been to a circus before and were really impressed with the quality of the show yesterday.
"My kids have been nagging and nagging and nagging me to bring them to the circus," she said with a laugh.
"They brought something home from school about it and begged me to take them."
She said her favourite act was the acrobats, who did flips and jumps through hoops at different heights. "It was very impressive."
Zirka Circus has 22 performers who have all trained at an acrobat school in Heibei, China.
The circus has been touring New Zealand for three years and has visited Rotorua on a number of occasions. The circus opened last Thursday and the closing show is on Sunday at 4.30pm.
A 7pm show will be held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and two shows will be held on Saturday (2pm and 7pm) and Sunday (1pm and 4.30pm).
No shows are being held today or tomorrow.
The shows go for two hours.
Children's tickets start at $19 and adult's tickets start at $28.
