The Rotorua Daily Post is a finalist at the prestigious PANPA newspaper awards.
The Post is up for Newspaper of the Year in its circulation category and Digital Destination of the year for this website.
Editor Kim Gillespie said the efforts his team had put in over the past year, particularly with the relaunching of both the newspaper and website, had paid off and it was great to receive this recognition.
PANPA says the awards recognise outstanding achievements in every part of the industry, from outstanding journalism and editorial leadership, to world-class marketing of news and new brands, to the the technical aspects of print and production and excellence in advertising and newspaper sales.
The awards are open to newspapers from across Australia and New Zealand as well as English-language papers from South-East Asia and the South Pacific.
Other finalists across the categories include the Rotorua Daily Post's sister papers the Bay of Plenty Times, Wanganui Chronicle, Herald on Sunday and the New Zealand Herald.
