A man has pleaded guilty to running over two girls in Ohope.
An interim name suppression order was not continued for Ramon Lee Hussey, 43, who appeared in the Whakatane District Court today.
However, the name of the business Hussey owns was suppressed.
He pleaded guilty to three charges, two of drink driving causing injury and one of driving while his licence was suspended.
Police were called to Pohutukawa Ave in Ohope at 2.20pm on Sunday, May 5, after reports of two children, aged 4 and 7, being struck by a reversing car.
The man was driving with an excess breath-alcohol level of 754mcg per litre of breath. The legal limit is 400mcg.
The 4-year-old, who was from Whakatane was taken to hospital but later transferred to Auckland's Starship.
The man is due to be sentenced on June 19.
