A Rotorua 18-year-old has appeared in the Rotorua District Court this morning charged with assault.
The teenager, who was this morning granted interim name suppression, appeared before a registrar today.
He did not enter a plea to the charge and was remanded to reappear on March 21.
He was represented by Max Simpkins, who was acting for Bill Lawson.
He declined to talk to The Daily Post ``at this stage'' when approached outside court.
When the teenager left the court he pulled out his phone to film the photographers and camera men who were
filming him as he walked towards his vehicle.
A member of the public also tried to block the view of the cameras as he was getting into a waiting car.
