Christmas Appeal: American tourists donate

A busload of tourists from the United States donated to The Daily Post Christmas Appeal after reading about it in the paper.

The group stopped at the Salvation Army and donated 25 items of food.

A number of other donations have been made in the past few days including a donation of 262 items of food from staff from Work and Income and their customers.

Te Maioha Youth Justice Facility donated 71 items of food while Rotorua Childcare donated 90 items of food and three gifts.

The Rotorua District Council donated $800 and 30 items of food. Several churches have also made donations of food or cash over recent days including Roosevelt Bible Chapel, St Barnabas, St Faiths and C3 Rotorua.

The Daily Post will announce on Monday how much the appeal has raised this year and will acknowledge appeal donors.
