Cool, wet September

September was wetter and colder than usual in Rotorua.

Springfield-based weatherman Brian Holden said September usually received about 130mm of rain. But this year, 162mm of rain fell. The most rain, 50.5mm, fell on September 15.

Rain fell on 16 days during the month. The average temperature for September is 10.5C and this year was only slightly cooler, with a 10.4C normal. The hottest days were 21C and 21.8C recorded on the last two days.
