Rock icons Pat Benatar, Bachman and Turner and America are heading to Taupo to perform this summer.
As part of the Summer Concert Series Benatar with guitarist Neil Giraldo, giants of rock-n-roll Bachman and Turner and classic rock favourites America will perform in Taupo, Matakana and Queenstown in February.
Promoter Amanda Calvert said the line-up was impressive and the setting they would perform in was beautiful and scenic.
"As this will be the first New Zealand show for both Benatar and Giraldo and Bachman and Turner, fans will be excited to finally have the opportunity to see [them], along with America, live in concert."
Benatar and Giraldo are behind some of the most memorable hits of the 80s era such as Hit Me With Your Best Shot, and Love Is A Battlefield.
Randy Bachman earned his first success with Winnipeg rock band The Guess Who and their hit American Woman. With Fred Turner, the duo became part of Bachman-Turner Overdrive and gained global success.
America formed 42 years ago when Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell - with former band mate Dan Peek who died in 2011 - met at a London high school. They harmonised their way to the top of the charts with their signature song A Horse with No Name. America became a household name with impressive hits such as Ventura Highway and Sister Golden Hair.
All three rock icons will be at the Amphitheatre in Taupo on February 16. Tickets are on sale from September 24.
A Kiwi support band will kick off the show followed by America at 1pm, Bachman and Turner at 3pm and Pat Benatar at 5pm.
