Rotoiti delays
State Highway 30 at Rotoiti has been reduced to one lane with drivers told to expect delays while workers remove unstable rocks from the Rotoiti Cliffs. Heavy weekend rain caused rocks to fall on to the highway on Sunday night. The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is working with Rotorua District Council to stabilise the cliffs so the road can be fully reopened. NZTA's Bay of Plenty state highways manager Brett Gliddon said a further assessment of the cliffs will be undertaken early next week.
