Hitched 2012, Rotorua's one day wedding show, returns this weekend for those people planning that very special event.
Organiser Peter Duncan said the show has been re-branded and the emphasis now was about Rotorua being a quintessential wedding destination for the domestic market and international tourists.
"Rotorua is famous for the abundance of natural and man-made resources, attractions, and plethora of activities it offers both the domestic and international tourism markets.
"With such a rich history, it's not difficult to see why Rotorua, and the greater Bay of Plenty, is the preferred choice for many local and international inbound couples seeking a unique and beautiful destination."
The expo is being opened by Rotorua Mayor Kevin Winters at 9.45am Sunday and there was free entry for people who arrived between 8.30am and 9.45am.
Mr Duncan said this would be filmed as part of a promotional video for the event.
The show at the Rotorua Convention Centre runs from 10am to 4pm and 70 exhibits are on show by professionals in both the wedding, catering and entertainment industry. The expo will feature two bridal and fashion runway shows at 11am and 3pm. Bridal houses being showcased are Miss2Mrs Bridal, Hope's Bridal, Fab Frocks and Jo Ling Bridal.
Fashion house Annah S will also be showing.
Mr Duncan said throughout the expo, local musicians and DJs would be playing and all are available to be booked.
Mr Duncan said a new concept this year would be a "unique laminated Rotorua wedding booklet".
The first 200 brides who come to the show would receive a $89 goody bag with free cosmetics and personally branded chocolates.
Throughout the day people will be able to sample canapes, cakes, beverages as well as live music, spot prizes and two fabulous fashion and bridal runways.
Well-known Rotorua graffiti artist Ants Haines will be on site working on a wedding themed mural based on the Hinemoa and Tutanekai legend.
As part of the online marketing, Mr Duncan said if people clicked the Facebook like on the website they would have the chance to win a road trip to Taupo or Rotorua.
The prize includes accommodation and entry to a number of tourism attractions. There was also a Pinterest website and a blog website for the event. The cost is $5 for adults and under 15s are free.
Tickets are available from the Rotorua Convention Centre and Ticketmaster or from 10am to 5pm at the Convention Centre.
