Aaron Carotta is living life to the full and advises other men to do the same.
The American TV star has returned to Rotorua to film part of season two of his show Alive with Adventure Aaron, which follows him as he lives an adventurous life after being diagnosed with cancer
about three years ago.
He filmed part of the last series in Rotorua and because he enjoyed himself so much the last time, he came back to the city.
The second series will include up to 15 new adventures, and will feature his Rotorua hunting adventure.
Carotta is crossing off bucket list items and one of those - to fire a gun and shoot a deer - he successfully did in Mamaku with the help of Basic Instincts hunting.
"I've always wanted to go hunting in New Zealand and I've never fired a gun before so it should be fun."
"I had such a good time in Rotorua that I requested to come back again for season two."
Around three years ago Carotta was diagnosed with cancer which sparked his idea to travel the world. He is in remission.
His visit to Rotorua this week coincides with Men's Health Week, which runs between June 13 and June 19, and Carotta is encouraging all men to get regular health checks.
He is also an advocate for active living.
"Don't get caught up in the business side of things and just live life to the fullest."
"I wasn't going to the gym or eating healthy and that caught up on me but I am travelling a lot now and keeping very active."
Carotta is also working towards breaking a world record for cancer awareness.
He will attempt to kayak the up the east coast of the United States, from Florida to Maine.
If he is successful, he will have completed the longest solo journey in a kayak.
