A group of Rotorua diners are set to have the evening of a lifetime at a swanky Rotorua lodge known for hosting the rich and famous.
One of the lucky tables at the Supper Club tomorrow night will head out to the multi-million lodge for a dinner prepared by its original chef, Jonathan Chemis.
Mr Chemis, who is Waiariki Institute of Technology's chef lecturer will be taking along two of his culinary students just a few weeks into their two-year Diploma of Culinary Arts course.
He said it was a huge opportunity for Jessie McIndoe and Grace Bruere, who were chosen for their cleanliness and good hygiene while cooking.
"It's a good opportunity for them to get out there and do something," Mr Chemis said.
He was part of the opening of the lodge and worked out there as a chef, so said it was nice to be getting back out there.
He was relishing the opportunity to prepare and cook a six or seven-course menu for the guests.
"I always get nervous. If you're not nervous something is wrong."
Supper Club organiser Linley Parry said it was exciting to have the lodge involved.
"The community is banding together to make Lake Okareka Lodge come to life as a restaurant."
The Supper Club is one of the big fundraisers for the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat at Ngongotaha.
