Stan Walker will kick off his World Tour of New Zealand in Rotorua - and it's expected to be a sellout.
The Kiwi singer, who is currently starring as a judge on TV3's The X Factor, will perform at the Civic Theatre on September 4 in the first show of his national tour. He will also play at the Edgecumbe War Memorial Hall in Whakatane on September 10.
Pre-sales are available from 9am today at www.ticketmaster.co.nz, closing at 5pm on Thursday. General sales begin at 9am on Monday.
Events & Venues Rotorua general manager Peter McLeod said it was great to have Walker back in Rotorua.
"He was extremely popular when he was here last time and he was one of the stars of the Lakeside concert [in 2010]," he said.
With the Civic Theatre having a 680-person capacity, Walker's fans should get in early to secure their tickets, he said.
"It's one that will go very quickly." Walker has sold more than 170,000 singles and close to 100,000 albums to date.
He made his acting debut in February this year, playing the lead role of Turei in the feature film Mt Zion which debuted at number one at the New Zealand box office.
Walker recently released The Complete Collection - a limited edition package combining all three of his albums with a bonus Take It Easy single - and will release new track Bulletproof on May 31.
