Global natural health company Comvita and its tourism partner, The Department of Discovery, have completed new developments at its visitor centre near Te Puke.
As part of ongoing enhancement of Experience Comvita, new exhibits have been incorporated into Tane's forest and the new multimedia bee visualisations, bringing more excitement and richness to the tour.
The Comvita Tourism Partnership has created Experience Comvita, a purpose-built tourism attraction. It tells the unique New Zealand story of Comvita, and as visitors explore exhibits and see examples of native plants and their natural healing properties, they learn the story of Tane, the Maori God of the forest.
Experience Comvita is the only place in the world where people can enter a virtual honey bee hive and see the amazing qualities and life of the honey bee. In the Wellness Room, people learn how man and science are nature's intelligence to create products for human wellbeing.
Tim Cantlon, a director on the Comvita Tourism Partnership board and chief operating officer for The Department of Discovery said, "Experience Comvita is fast becoming a must-visit attraction in the Bay. Given its location on the route between Tauranga and Rotorua, it is ideally placed to welcome domestic and international tourists."
