Rotorua's revamped KFC is set to reopen today in its bigger and flash new store.
The central-city KFC has been closed for the past three weeks as the old restaurant was demolished and a new one built next door.
The new redevelopment on Amohau St includes a 48-seat restaurant, space for 24 car parks, and a drive-through with a capacity for a 13-vehicle queue.
KFC general manager Jamie McKaughan described the new premises as "fresh and exciting" with all the latest equipment and technology.
Staff were excited to get into the new building.
Mr McKaughan said they were using "state of the art" technology for cooking and the drive-through.
The Rotorua store had been in existence for "a long time", he said.
"Over the years it has been upgraded but not to the extent of being demolished and completely rebuilt."
Mr McKaughan said 10 new staff had been hired as a result of the upgrade.
Blessings were to be held at the store today at 10am.
