Further to the North Shore bus service being moved away from downtown Auckland, I will now have to drive my car to use another bus service/route. How does this help commuters or ease traffic? Come University holidays, your buses will be empty. Seriously!

As a parent it is awesome to see kids getting off their gaming systems and devices to actually do something. Scouts usually offers my kids all the adventure they need, but Captain Musick Air Scouts based at Pigeon Mountain showed Auckland that making plastic scale models can be fun and rewarding! After weeks of hard work and plenty of concentration and determination heaps of young people entered scale plastic models into the Scouts Model Gala. The scale models were fantastic, the event was great fun and the prizes were brilliant! Well done to Scouts, who continue to give so much to the youth of New Zealand!

I could not agree more with Alistair on school parking on narrow roads. It is the same on narrow Lucy Foster Lane, Red Beach before 9am and 3pm every weekday, where it is chaos and very difficult to negotiate the open car doors. An accident waiting to happen! Where are the parents' brains and the traffic enforcement?

A big thanks to the helpful police officer who took pity on out-of-town visitors and guided us out of the city centre to Parnell via the maze of Auckland downtown on Thursday. By driving in front of us to the area from where we could easily find our way, he saved my wife and me a world of frustration.

In reply to Alistair's rant about mothers getting children out of the road-side door at school - what am I supposed to do when I have a child in each side? In a small car it's virtually impossible to climb over one carseat to get to the other from the footpath side. Maybe people driving along could be more understanding to people like me with more than one child to get out of the car!

I really have to thank the gentleman who came over to help me in the Pak'n Save car-park, Tauranga, in the rain, when I passed out beside my campervan and fell on the tarseal on September 2. He called the ambulance and checked I was alright. Thank you very much.
