Tamaki Drive on the Auckland waterfront has reopened following the crash which closed part of it earlier today.
Just before 3pm, the police said the closed section - between The Strand and Ngapipi Rd - had been re-opened, although one east-bound lane remained closed.
A car had hit a tree. Three people suffered injured ranging from critical to moderate.
The police investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
"There are heaps of police cars and an ambulance as well," a worker at the Hell pizza shop on Quay St beyond the western end of the road closure, said shortly after it happened.
The St John ambulance service said three people were taken to Auckland City Hospital.
St John said one of the patients was in a critical condition, one serious and the third suffered moderate injuries.
Five St John vehicles attended the crash, which occurred at around 1.30pm.
