Five people were taken to hospital after a crash in Kaiapoi, Canterbury, this morning.
The car-van collission occurred at the intersection of Ohoka and Island Roads around 9.30am.
Diversions on the road while three people were cut from the car.
Two children under 12 were injured, although it's unknown if they were trapped in the car.

A St John spokesperson confirmed the five people suffered status two and three injuries.
Fire Service southern communications spokesman Riwai Grace said cutting the three from the car took 35 minutes.
