A masked man armed with bolt cutters and a fire hydrant has smashed his way into a sex store to steal Dorothy — "the perfect companion for lonely nights."
The life-size doll retails at NZ$4970, news.com.au reported.
Police believe a man, wearing a stocking over his head, turned up to the Melbourne Sexyland store just after 6am on Sunday in a white Ford Transit van.
They think he used bolt cutters to get through the fence and the fire hydrant to break into the shop where he chose Dorothy from about 12 take-home life sized-titanium alloy dolls.
She weighs somewhere between 22 and 49kg and is 168cm tall with blonde hair and skimpy lingerie. Police haven't released details of Dorothy's eye or skin colour.
Sexyland describes the doll as "developed from superior materials for soft, ultra-realistic feeling skin".
It says Dorothy's skeleton also allows her to stand on her own — "the perfect companion for lonely nights".
Kingston detectives have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with.
He is described as having a solid build and was wearing a dark coloured jumper with a red stripe across the chest, dark pants and dark casual shoes with white laces.
