Star basketball player Tom Abercrombie has wed the love of his life, Monique-Raquel Shaw, in a romantic and intimate ceremony on Fiji's Vovo Island.
The ceremony took place on March 25 with only the celebrated athlete's friend, teammate and Breakers' captain, Mika Vukona, and his wife, Vanessa, attending.
"The way we did things was exactly what we wanted. It was our perfect day," Abercrombie told New Idea magazine.
"It was really laid back and we were in a world of our own. Nothing mattered to us more than our vows."
The couple has been dating since 2011 and became engaged four months ago.
During the ceremony, the Tall Black vowed to his 24-year-old bride: "I promise to protect you and always love you with every beat of my heart.
"I love you to the ends of the universe and back, my queen, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
Abercrombie, 27, has been at the forefront of the Breakers' success in recent years. The team won the Australian NBL title in March - their fourth championship in the last five seasons. Abercrombie is also a star of the Tall Blacks.
