Two women have been arrested following burglaries of motels and holiday baches in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
The women have been charged with a total of 10 burglaries of motels and holiday homes in Taupo, Ohakune, Rotorua, Whakatane, Ohope and Waihau Bay.
They were arrested after police searched a residential property in Whakatane today.
Between February and August the women stole a large amount of bedding, furniture, household appliances, food and cash valuing $10,000.
Some of the stolen property has been found by police and investigations were continuing.
""We want to sincerely thank members of the community who helped us to apprehend these active offenders and prevent further property loss," Detective Sergeant Darren Thomas said.
The women were in custody and would appear in court tomorrow.
