Interest is expected to be high in the leasing of three office spaces in the Hazeldean Business Park in the Christchurch suburb of Addington which have become available due to tenants relocating.
Early next year, lawyers Cavell Leitch are moving to the BNZ Centre in Cashel Street, leaving 1636sq m of ground floor offices at 6 Hazeldean Road. There is a similar sized space in the same building on Level 1 and 338sq m on the ground floor of 12 Hazeldean Road.
"While a growing number of offices are signalling a return to Christchurch central city space, the CBD won't suit all tenants," says Brynn Burrows, director of office leasing at Colliers International in Christchurch.
"Some firms need to be in the CBD for the ease of business, but others were happy to be on the fringe in modern premises.
"It was inevitable that there would be some tenants in the Hazeldean Business Park like Cavell Leitch seeking to shift back into the CBD but the park remains well leased to businesses that are attracted by its campus style, good onsite parking, easy access and great amenities," Burrows says,
"It's ideal for businesses which don't need to be right in the city centre but which benefit from being close to the CBD within this Addington hub with its own critical mass.
Burrows says existing fit-outs in Hazeldean Business Park will save new tenants considerable capital outlay.
"Hazeldean has its own café onsite and childcare facility, with plenty of nearby amenities in busy Addington."
