Forecast: *GALE WARNING IN FORCE* North of Tokomaru Bay: Northwest rising to 35 knots this morning, changing southwest 35 knots this evening and easing to 25 knots tonight. Elsewhere: Northwest 15 knots,changing southwest 40 knots this afternoon, easing to 30 knots tonight. Sea becoming very rough for a time. Southerly swell rising to 3 metres. Fair visibility in showers at times.

Outlook: Outlook following 3 days: Easing Friday evening southerly 15 knots. Tending early Saturday northerly 15 knots, rising late Saturday 25 knots, and early Sunday northerly 35 knots offshore. Changing late Sunday westerly 30 knots. Sea very rough at times.Moderate southwest swell at times.
