Teina Pora is gearing up for yet another battle with the justice system, after serving 20 years jail for being wrongly convicted of murder.
The Crown has put in a provisional appeal to the High Court decision which ruled Pora should have inflation added to his compensation payout.
Private investigator Tim McKinnel talks to Newstalk ZB's Larry Williams.
Tim McKinnel, the private investigator who helped clear Pora's name, says Pora thought it was over.
"He's sick of having to fight and he's sick of having attention drawn to him, sort of periodically. He just wants to get on with his life but also wants to be treated fairly and that's yet to happen."
Justice Minister Amy Adams said it's just to keep a future appeal open as a possibility for the incoming government.
