Dancing with the MPs. Government ministers Pete Hodgson and Trevor Mallard cut loose with some unexpected and surprisingly energetic dance moves yesterday. They were making a point of course (don't politicians always?) at the launch of a nutrition and exercise programme aimed at the nation's youth. Thanks to TV3 editor Greg Pearson for marking the occasion with this video gem. [Hat tip: Spare Room]

The web has been around long enough now that you can actually look at a website and take a pretty good guess at when it was designed. Fashions change with time and what looked very cool a few years ago now seems cluttered and confused. The trend these days seems to be towards cleaner designs with lots more white space.

Rafat Ali on paidcontent.org links to some recent redesigns, including Fox News, a site that presents a more sophisticated image with its makeover, and NBC which is loaded with graphics and features an interactive Flash banner across the top.

The memories of New Zealand's World War 2 veterans are being collected on video, with transcripts posted online at Nga Toa ("Many Warriors"). This remarkable site is a labour of love for Patrick Bronte who began interviewing veterans for the project five years ago, starting with men from his hometown of Waipukurau. There's a lot more to Patrick, but the best way to find out about him and Nga Toa is to visit the site. [Hat tip nzedge]
