Ruby Jay Marris, the five year-old killed in a crash involving a foreign driver in Otago, has been remembered as a "beautiful little angel" in online tributes to the young girl.
The Marris family, of Oamaru, were travelling north when their car and a car driven by a 32-year-old Chinese man collided.
Her two sisters and her parents were taken to Dunedin hospital but Ruby died at the scene.
A funeral notice described her as the "cherished and loved youngest daughter" of Kimberley and Tristan and adored sister to Georgia and Sophie.
Online tributes to Ruby described her as a "beautiful little angel" and a "fun-loving princess".
The tourist charged over the accident was granted name suppression in the Dunedin District Court on Monday because of concerns for his safety.
He was charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and four counts of dangerous driving causing injury.
He entered no plea to any of the charges and was remanded on bail to an Auckland address. He was ordered to surrender his passport and driver's licence.
