School based healthcare, for a better future

Dr Lance O'Sullivan has taken Health Ministry funding for tackling rheumatic fever and topped it up with money from the food charity KidsCan to put five nurses and health workers into the district's schools. The 'Moko' programme (Manawa Ora, Korokoro Ora, or healthy hearts, healthy throats) reaches 2000 children at 14 primary and intermediate schools in the Far North region. Dr O'Sullivan says that the resolution to a healthy community & country will take more than Doctors & nurses but total government commitment.
