Jailed child sex offender William Alexander Baine will be reconsidered for parole or release on home detention in October.
Baine, 76, a retired teacher of Eastbourne, Wellington, was convicted last year of seven charges of indecent assault spanning 50 years.
In October he was jailed for three years.
He appeared before the Parole Board last week and his application to be freed was adjourned to late October.
