South Auckland police have launched a homicide inquiry following the death of a 15-year-old boy.
It is the seventh suspected killing in the district in nine weeks.
Police were called to a house in Appleby Street, in Mangere East, about four o'clock this morning.
Police and emergency services were called to a house in Appleby Street, Mangere East about 4am and the youth was taken to hospital but later died, police said in a statement.
Police were talking to occupants at the house and to the youth's family and friends today. A scene examination was also being carried out.
The victims name will not be released until tomorrow morning and it was unclear if the youth lived at the address or was a visitor.
