A suspicious fire that destroyed a science store room has failed to disrupt classes at Whangarei Primary School.
Principal Geoff Skudder said it would be "business as usual" after a blaze gutted the store room containing all of the school's science resources.
The school might try to borrow resources from other schools so the science programme could continue without too much disruption, he said.
The fire started about 9.45pm on Friday and caused thousands of dollars damage.
Six class rooms and corridors sustained smoke and heat damage, but 10 cleaners worked yesterday to clean up the mess.
Whangarei Fire Brigade station officer Don Davies said the fire was well alight when the brigade arrived.
Four fire engines took 30 minutes getting the fire under control and more than three hours making sure it had not spread into other rooms.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
