A cheap chicken and chips meal is helping to lure elderly gamblers to Christchurch Casino.
The $2 lunch for senior citizens has been criticised by a problem gambling group, which wants it scrapped.
Gambling Problem Helpline manager Gary Clifford questioned the ethics of the lunch offer. "There's never really anything for nothing. For some people [the meals] are a dangerous slippery slope."
But the casino says it is simply providing "a nice day out" for pensioners.
