A 15-year-old prostitute has been found guilty of the manslaughter of a man found bound and gagged in the tiny boot of his MR2 sportscar.
The girl, who has interim name suppression, was found not guilty of being involved in the murder of Nicholas Odysseus Devliotis, 32, at Orewa beach in April.
The girl, represented by Geoff Wells and Maria Pecotic, was remanded in the High Court at Auckland for sentencing this month.
The jury was unable to agree on a verdict in the case of Stacey Francis Davey, aged 23, of Orewa, also charged with murder. He was represented by Jonathan Wiles and Brett Ravelich.
Toni Maree Henare, 25, had pleaded guilty to her part in the murder.
Henare, a sex worker, believed she was entitled to the car, claiming Mr Devliotis, her former boyfriend, promised her it in return for sexual favours.

Warbirds over Wanaka
Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts turned out to see some impressive aircraft in action yesterday at a preview of the Warbirds over Wanaka show this weekend. The popular event had been grounded for the past six years, partly because of Covid pandemic restrictions. This Easter weekend it returns, with a sellout crowd of more than 60,000 people set to attend today and tomorrow. Photos / George Heard
