NEW ZEALAND 37
SCOTLAND 6
An impressive All Black side poured on the points in the last 15 minutes of this morning's test match to ease past Scotland 37-6 at Murrayfield in Edinburgh.
Late tries from Tana Umaga, his 24th for his country, replacement scrum-half Mark Robinson and a memorable one from Jonah Lomu eventually saw New Zealand home comfortably.
The AB's struggled to get, and make use of, quality ball for the first 70 minutes of the match. The Scots' spoiling tactics frustrated New Zealand time and time again.
It wasn't until the last stanza of the match that a trio of tries allowed John Mitchell's side to assert their dominance.
Scotland defended bravely in the opening period and managed to keep the All Blacks down to just three successful Mehrtens penalties.
Scottish left wing Paterson kicked two himself to leave New Zealand ahead by an unconvincing three points 9-6 at the interval.
Ten minutes before the interval the All Blacks lost their influential scrum-half Byron Kelleher, who was replaced by Robinson.
Robinson did nothing wrong when given his chance and capped his display by scoring a try in between Umaga's and Lomu's efforts.
Aaron Mauger was another who had a good game. He was impressive in his All Black debut against the Irish last week and showed at Murrayfield that his initial performance had been no fluke.
