A 14-year-old boy with a mental age of 8 has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years' jail for home invasion and aggravated robbery.
Daniel John Tai and co-offender Kayla Dennis, also 14, robbed and attacked three elderly Lower Hutt women. Dennis was last month sentenced to 4 1/2 years in jail for her role in the robberies and a separate knife attack.
Both were sentenced in the Wellington District Court and name suppression, normally automatic for youth offenders, was dropped.
