A diver found unresponsive in the Doubtful Sound has died.
Police responded to reports the diver was in trouble at Bauza Island shortly before 2pm today.
The report came from a boat in the same area, police said.
Following a distress call a boat with a doctor onboard responded.

Despite the doctor performing CPR on the diver, he didn't survive, police said.
Sergeant Tod Hollebon said the diver came from a boat with nine people onboard, and two others had also been diving.
The two other divers who helped bring the unresponsive diver to the surface were taken to Invercargill Hospital as a precaution.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
