A 15-year-old is now facing charges after robbing a Lower Hutt dairy of cash and tobacco as well as threatening staff with a metal rod.
Police charged the teen in relation to the aggravated robbery of the dairy on the corner of High and Tennyson Streets in Avalon, Lower Hutt yesterday.
Police received a report that a man had entered the dairy around 11:15am yesterday armed with a metal rod.
He threatened the two shop attendants, took cash and tobacco products, and left the scene in the car.
Officers carrying out area enquiries in Taita located the car which had been used in the robbery, a short time later.
He is due to appear Hutt Valley Youth Court tomorrow.
Police are continuing to make enquiries into the robbery and are still speaking with a number of people and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the robbery.
