Four people are trapped in their cars, one with critical injuries, after two separate crashes in the Auckland region.
And another three people escaped serious injury after their car and flipped in West Auckland in the same half-hour period.
The more serious of the three crashes happened on Mill Road in Takanini, where two people are trapped in separate cars.
One motorist is in a critical condition while a second person is suffering serious injuries. Both were trapped in their cars and were awaiting help from emergency services.
It was not clear how many cars were involved in the crash.
The driver of another car is stuck in their vehicle after crashing and flipping in Waiwera, north of Auckland.
The crash in Waiwera happened around 9.45pm on Hibiscus Coast Highway, near Waiwera Rd.
The vehicle had flipped on its side after crashing and the driver had been trapped.
The extent of the driver's injuries were not clear.
A nurse was at the scene and emergency services were working to free the driver from their vehicle.
Meanwhile, a car with three occupants had flipped on its side after crashing on Northcross Avenue, in Henderson.
The Toyota had crashed just before 10pm.
Initial reports suggested the occupants of the vehicle were trapped, however they had since been freed.
None of the three occupants appeared to be suffering serious injuries.
