Two crashes and a breakdown this morning on Auckland's Southern Motorway have backed up traffic in both directions.
A crash that was blocking the Southern Motorway northbound lane just after the Redoubt Road on-ramp has now been cleared but the NZ Transport Agency says traffic is heavy and warns of delays.
A three-car crash soutbound near the Tecoma St off-ramp is causing congestion around Greenlane, although the vehicles are now clear of the lanes.
A broken-down car blocked the left northbound lane just after the Khyber Pass off-ramp at 7am.
The lane has been cleared but NZTA says delays are expected in that area also.
Southern Motorway traffic is also heavy citybound between Drury and Takanini, between East Tamaki Rd and Greenlane, and from Ellerslie to the city.
Traffic is also heavy citybound on the Northern Motorway between Oteha Valley Rd and Onewa Rd, and moderate northbound approaching the Harbour Bridge.
The Southwestern Motorway is heavily congested between Maioro St and Queenstown Rd, and moderate to heavy between Lambie Drive and Massey Rd.
The Northwestern Motorway is congested citybound between Westgate and Royal Rd, and between Lincoln Rd and Bond St.
