Armed police have been sent to a rural Hamilton property after a noise-control complaint got out of hand.
Waikato Armed Offenders Squad members are at a property on Old Mountain Rd, Raglan, after the complaint turned into disorder and threats to neighbouring residents.
However, Waikato Senior Sergeant Phil Ruddell said there was no risk to residents or police.
"It began as a noise complaint and it's evolved into disorder and threats made to local residents. The threats were all verbal and no firearms were present."
Ruddell said police believed the person was still at the property.
Police were called at 5am today but the noise began several hours before.
"The disorder had been going on for some time up to that point."
Armed police were sent about 9.30am.
